The Airline Pilot Club (APC) Announces Boeing Investment and Strategic Partnership

APC announced as part of Boeing Aerospace Xelerated programme
The Airline Pilot Club and Boeing create a new pathway to becoming an Airline Pilot.

Tuesday 18th January 2022

APC and Boeing / Aerospace Xelerated have announced the launch of a partnership that will provide aspirant airline pilots with a powerful platform from which they can progress on their journey to becoming an airline pilot.

This partnership with Boeing means that APC will  have access to Boeing’s industry leading strategists and other technical experts from industry, all of whom will support APC in becoming the global ‘go to’ career development, pilot training, and employee on-boarding location for aspirant pilots, ATOs and Airlines. Boeing supports APC because its processes will drive diversity, quality, and safety in the airline industry.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] is welcoming ten new companies to join the third cohort of Aerospace Xelerated, its UK-based start-up accelerator whose first two groups have gone on to raise more than £50 million in additional funding and create more than 100 jobs across the country.

Startups using artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous technology to solve key challenges across aerospace and defence were chosen among 148 applications from around the world for the 12-week programme. The startups will benefit from an optional £100,000 equity investment from Boeing, introductions to a network of investors and the wider industry. A Boeing-themed week of meetings and workshops began today.

APC is a talent community that offers  a “Freemium” membership whereby anyone who registers with APC at www.theairlinepilotclub.com will have access to a free Pilot Career Psychometric Assessment and free access to airline standard e learning. APC webinars are designed to improve awareness of, and preparation for, the airline pilot career. A key element of the APC process is to connect its members with high quality Approved Training Organisations that have undergone the APC ATO review process.

Commenting on the announcement, APC founder and CEO, Captain Andy O’Shea FRAeS said:

“It is hard to describe how excited we are at the news that we are included in the Aerospace Xelerated Boeing start-up investment program. Boeing’s endorsement of the APC concept, the financial investment and its strategic partnership will provide APC with enhanced means to pursue our objectives in developing a global and diverse community of aspirant pilots, student pilots, qualified pilots, ATOs and airlines.

Our Free Registration offer to individuals has been an enormous success and we are adding partner training organisations to our community who meet the training quality standards that APC requires. We look forward to driving the APC process forward, in partnership with Boeing, during 2022 and beyond.”

Sir Martin Donnelly, president of Boeing Europe and managing director of Boeing in the UK and Ireland, said:

“We are proud to see Aerospace Xelerated’s continued success despite the industry headwinds of the last two years, and we are equally impressed by what our start-up alumni have been able to accomplish during this time. We look forward to meeting another dynamic group of companies and helping them chart their futures.”
